From the early 40's until the 80's the club was managed by personel from the LAGO refinery. There were no electric carts in those times. The Americans used caddies carrying the golfbags, scraping the sandgreens and finding lost balls. After a days 'work' the caddies got a drink and a hamburger but were not allowed to enter the clubhouse. Most of them also got 25 cts for one round of cadying, alot of money in those times!
Most of the caddies liked to gamble. They gambled for the money they made on the course. Once a week the caddies were allowed to play the course.
Since 1986, when LAGO closed down, the course was given to the local people. Without water and funds to maintain the course it became a desert course.
